Reality House

Established in 1967, Reality House, Inc. is a community based Not-For-Profit OASAS (Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services) certified medically supervised outpatient chemical dependency treatment facility that provides culturally-appropriate substance abuse and HIV treatment and prevention services to New Yorkers living primarily in Astoria Queens, but our client base extends throughout the five Boroughs.  In 2006, we suspended our services in Harlem and after a couple of temporary relocations, we adopted an agency redesign and redevelopment.  Reality House, Inc. has since transformed our agency to include effective treatment services for Veterans, their families, and communities along the lines of cultural competence and social justice.  We are pleased to announce that as of January 24th, 2013, our offices were relocated to Astoria New York 11102.  Our new facilities consist of a 30 bed Veterans residence and a medically supervised outpatient chemical dependency treatment program for the general population including veterans.  Reality House offers group and individual substance abuse treatment, vocational rehabilitation services including Guidance in career planning, job placement, GED preparation courses, parenting skills training as well as we cater to our veterans with serious condition such as Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).  Cultural competency and diversity will permeate all aspects of the Reality House Treatments process and methods. This has promoted a re-examination of our mission, our philosophy and our program focus.
