Amy Byun brings over a decade of dedicated service in addiction treatment and mental health counseling to her role as Residential Program Director at Reality House. As a Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor with a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, she combines evidence-based treatment approaches with deep compassion for individuals on their recovery journey.
Throughout her career, Amy has provided counseling and support to diverse populations facing substance abuse and behavioral health challenges, including professionals in high-stress careers and vulnerable groups such as pregnant women seeking treatment. Her approach emphasizes creating positive, therapeutic environments where clients can build trust, find peer support, and work toward sustainable recovery and personal growth.
Amy has developed and facilitated group therapy programs, created personalized treatment plans, and helped countless individuals achieve measurable outcomes in their recovery. Her background also includes leadership experience in program development and team management, skills she now applies to overseeing residential programming and supporting both clients and team members at Reality House.
Amy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Southern Methodist University, where she graduated with honors as a Dedman College Scholarship recipient, and a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Hunter College. She completed additional specialized training at the William Alanson White Institute in eating disorders, compulsions, and addictions.
